Proposal to suspend some of the mobile police units from the building. Like the use of container uints in modern temporary buildings, the surveillance units can be easily added to the structure, offering a high level of surveillance and pysically linking their presence to the embassy

Embassy safety

2010

Commisioned by VROM/NTCB, workshop led by Liesbeth van der Pol.

Concept proposals for alternative ways of securing embassies, several architects and designers were invited to do a workshop on safety measures and propose new and intersting ways of securing an embassy building. The proposals were presented to the office of the National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism and the ministry of Infrastructure and Environment.

The proposals focused  on two locations, of which one existing; the American embassy, and one to be built;  the French embassy.
